Nadya Suleman
Octomom gained international attention when she had given birth to octuplets in January 2009. Born Nadya Denise Suleman, she conceived the octuplets, including her six other children, through in vitro fertilization. Initially, she had denied ever having used public assistance but eventually confirmed otherwise on NBC’s Today show. Suleman earned a psychiatric technician license at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut and a bachelor’s degree in child development from California State University and worked for a state mental hospital for three years.
In 1997, the Octomom began to receive IVF treatments at the age of 21, under the supervision of Dr. Michael Kamrava. A few years later, in 2001, Suleman gave birth to her first child, a son, and a baby girl the following year. She continued to receive IVF treatments at the time, which resulted in three pregnancies. The news of the octuplets caused a worldwide media sensation, and Suleman quickly captured the public eye. As a result, she made guest appearances in various television shows like The Oprah Winfrey Show and Idol Gives Back.
